Solahart

Australia’s Solahart is the world’s largest developer of solar hot water systems, with its solar hot water systems providing hot water to over one million Australian homes and businesses. Founded in 1901 by two businessmen, Solahart has pioneered the use of natural sun energy for heating water, laying the foundation for efficient solar solutions. Today, Jay Water is recognized as a trusted Solahart solar water heater supplier in India.
Solahart was created to produce solar hot water heaters optimized for the Western Australian environment. By the mid ’60s, Solahart designed models suitable for all climates and delivered solar hot water to homes and industries. These innovations are now available through Solahart water heater dealers in Ahmedabad, offering high-quality solar water heating solutions locally.
Originally, some Solahart units were installed at the Cocos Islands. In 1978, the Solahart 300L/80GE model launched to global acclaim, leading to the establishment of an international dealer network. Today, customers in India can source these solutions online, making the Solahart solar water heater in India easily accessible.
Today, Solahart has manufactured over one million solar water heaters used across more than eighty countries. As part of Paloma Co. Ltd., a global leader in water and space heating since 2001, Solahart ensures reliable, high-efficiency solar water solutions.
Paloma has nurtured the innovation that was instrumental in creating Solahart in the 20th century and continues to support its global expansion, delivering trusted and sustainable solar water heating systems for the 21st century.

Decrease water heater energy use up to 89%.

Key Features
The Solahart J Series is a closed-circuit, roof-mounted solar water heater precisely designed to furnish low-cost service in medium to high solar gain areas. The maximum amount of energy from the sun is taken out by Solahart’s revolutionary multi-flow collector, an important feature of the J Series.
The collector contains the heated Hartgard fluid, which is transferred to a heat exchanger where the heat is conveyed to the tank water.
- Roof mount model to save space
- Reduces household greenhouse emissions
- Energy Saving-water heating energy use cut by up to 89%
- Low cost, Low maintenance and definitive operation
180 LT ROOF TOP SOLAR SYSTEM
The 181J solar water heater is precisely designed to provide low-cost service in medium to high solar gain areas. It is perfect for harsh water quality or frost-prone areas.
The 181J solar water heater is perfect for small units as it requires low volumes of solar hot water.

FAQs
How many people’s hot-water needs can the Solahart system meet?
Our Solahart solar hot-water systems are designed with different capacities and collector sizes to match your household size. For a typical family of 3-5 people, a 180-300 litre system will comfortably meet daily hot-water usage, while larger families or homes with multiple bathrooms may choose 300–450 litre models. We’ll analyse your usage and roof space to select the right model.
Will the solar hot-water system work on overcast or rainy days in Ahmedabad/Gujarat?
Yes. While the system performs best under strong sunlight, Solahart systems are equipped with a booster/heater backup (electric or gas) to ensure you get hot water even when solar gain is low. For Ahmedabad, where sun exposure is high most of the year, you’ll enjoy major savings. On cloudy/rainy days, the system automatically switches to backup heating.
What is the pay-back period? How long until it pays for itself?
The pay-back period depends on your current hot-water energy cost (electricity/gas), water usage and sunlight exposure. In many Gujarat homes, you can expect a pay-back period of 3 to 6 years, depending on model, utility rates, roof orientation and system size. After that, you’ll enjoy significantly lower hot-water costs for many more years.
What maintenance is required and what is the lifespan of the system?
Solahart systems are built for durability. Routine maintenance includes one annual check of the collector and tank, cleaning of debris if needed, and inspection of pipe insulation and valves. With proper care, the system can last 12-15 years (or even longer), depending on usage and climate. Plus, we provide local service support to make maintenance easy.
What roof type and orientation do I need? Can it be installed on an apartment or flat roof?
The system requires a roof area for the solar collector(s) that receives good unshaded sun for most of the day (ideally facing west/south-west in Ahmedabad, or tilted according to local latitude). It can be installed on tile, metal or flat roofs (with appropriate mounting). In apartment or flat-roof situations, we evaluate available space and sun access. If the roof has significant shading or limited space, we’ll recommend the optimal layout or alternative system.
